Aslı Perker: Delicacies

A prose writer, a journalist, an editor, born in 1975 in Izmir. She studied American Studies, worked for the weekly Aktüel Haber [Current News], Radikal and Sabah [Morning], as a freelance reporter in New York, and currently works as an editor-in-chief at the publishing house Beyaz Baykuş [White Owl]. She made her debut at the age of 30, she has published five prose books, her novel on aging, death and mourning, mixed with culinary parts – Sufle – was translated into 23 languages. A review of the book wrote: “A cheerful, touching and clever prose that deals with the real meaning of a family and examines the power of food. Delicious in every sense.”
